Arrowroot is a starch obtained from the rhizomes (rootstock) of several tropical plants, traditionally Maranta arundinacea, but also Florida arrowroot from Zamia integrifolia, and tapioca from cassava (Manihot esculenta), which is often labelled as arrowroot. - Add water to pan, add salt.
- Add peeled, chopped nduma and turn heat on.
- Cover pan and slowly simmer the nduma until the water is almost dissolved. Check if nduma is done by pricking with fork, if soft all the way through it is done.
- Make tea by boiling water until hot. Steep the two tea bags for 10 minutes. Add honey, lemon juice and stir well.
- Serve the nduma with the black tea.
